EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- With each carry, Ron Dayne moves closer to the end of his run with the Giants.
This is the fifth and final season of Dayne's contract, and it has become clear to all that drafting the former Heisman Trophy winner 10th overall in 2000 has been a mistake. "It's frustrating because I don't think they would have drafted me as their No. 1 pick (in 2000) if they just wanted me to do the third-and-1 stuff," Dayne said. "They could have gotten that done with other backs in later rounds."
Unless there's a dramatic change in the way the Giants view Dayne and he views them, it's over. After ...
