Now I know what kind of zinnias to plant late next spring: Magellan, new for 2005.
Wow! They're gorgeous in a Colerain Township trial garden -- a mixed-colors bed of pink, peach, red and yellow Magellan zinnias at Al Krismer's Plant Farm, 3556 Poole Road near Farbach Werner Nature Preserve, a county park.
These new Magellan zinnias have huge flower heads, each a thick mound of tiny petals. Each plant seems to have as many blossoms as green foliage. They're low-growing zinnias and quite compact.
