Sep. 27--BEDFORD, Mass. -- When Governor Mitt Romney and Senator Edward M. Kennedy met with Pentagon officials last week to press for saving and expanding Hanscom Air Force Base, the heart of their case was the base's symbiotic relationship with the region's technology research cluster. Exhibit A was the neighboring MIT Lincoln Laboratory.
