Article: Honda to sell speech-recognition navigation system in North America.

Sep. 17--NEW YORK -- Honda Motor Co. will start marketing in North America from next month new vehicles equipped with a speech-recognition navigation system developed jointly with International Business Machines Corp., the two companies have said.

Honda will be the first automaker to standard-equip automobiles sold in North America with a navigation system that can identify spoken street and city names, according to IBM. In Japan, Honda cars are already equipped with the voice-recognition navigation system.

Honda will offer the new system as standard equipment on the 2005 Acura RL set for launch in October.
