Sep. 17--A jury got it wrong when it held the Transit Authority mostly responsible for the death of a man beaten by crackheads and chased onto subway tracks as a token booth clerk snoozed, an appellate court ruled yesterday.
The widow of Leandro Roseboro, 59, sued the agency after her husband was run over by a train at the W. 116th St. station in 1991. A Manhattan jury found the TA 80 percent responsible for Lydia Roseboro's $500,000 pain-and-suffering award, and the attackers 20 percent responsible.
But the Appellate Division reversed the split, cutting the TA's liability from $400,000 to $100,000.
