The Disbursing Division of Naval Supply Systems Command, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Treasury Financial Management Service (FMS) Bureau has announced the large-scale rollout of a new financial system. The Navy/ Marine Cash[TM] financial system is a technological evolution of NAVSUP's highly successful ATMs-At-Sea program.
Approximately 30--35 ships per year will be transitioned to the new cashless system. Through FY '08 the Navy/Marine Cash[TM] system will be installed on surface ships having disbursing offices. The system provides afloat personnel with an improvement in quality of life through cashless purchasing and electronic personal banking.
