WASHINGTON, Sept. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- The outlook for China's corn crop is more promising this year than last, with production estimated to range from 120 to 122 million metric tons (4.7-4.8 billion bushels), or about a 5 percent increase over 2003, according to Dr. Todd Meyer, the U.S. Grains Council's senior director based in Beijing.

"This year is not an excellent crop, it's a good crop," said Meyer on Sept. 27, reporting live from Beijing in a conference call on China's 2004 corn crop and overall feed grain supply and demand situation.
