Everybody now thinks John Kerry blundered badly when he made his Vietnam service the centerpiece of his presidential campaign, and he has paid a high price for his miscalculation.
He got little "bounce" out of the Democratic nominating convention. He spent precious weeks of
the campaign defending himself from attacks by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth and others. And worst of all, he apparently has not persuaded voters that he'll do a better job fighting terrorists or solving the Iraq mess than George Bush has.
Kerry has since changed the subject; the all-news cable channels are now chewing on something else, and ...
