A "dream team" of councilmembers and citizens is planning a special event in East Point, Ga., on September 28 to examine the issues and talk about local solutions to ensure access to the American dream.
The event is one example of what cities and towns across America are doing to support the National League of Cities American Dream Campaign. NLC President Charles Lyons, selectman from Arlington, Mass., launched the campaign last March and will convene a national roundtable discussion in Washington on September 28 to kick off what he has called a national day of "commitment and deliberation."
