IF THE spiritual home of Wales is the valleys, then Rhondda golf club is at the very heart and soul of the country. Sitting astride a mountain top, the course commands incredible views down four different valleys stretching away from the club like spokes on a bicycle wheel.
The course occupies a site 1, 000 feet above sea level, though there are few hints of its presence as you make your way along the valley floor from Pontypridd, a few miles north west of Cardiff.
