An Ackerman cabinet manufacturer and Walthall County sister company have ceased operations because of cash flow problems stemming from the State Insurance Commission's seizure of Andrew Jackson insurance companies.
A Belwood official said Belwood USA Inc. and Walthall Woodworks are up for sale after operations ceased and electricity was shut off to the Ackerman plant on April 3. About 225 employees from the Walthall County and Ackerman plants lost their jobs.
