If there was any doubt that the political parties have entered election mode, Tony Blair dispelled it last night.
'We can win a third term,' he told delegates. 'Now let's get out and do it.'
This was a let's-get-to-work Prime Minister. There were no flowery visions of shaken kaleidoscopes, as in the 2001 conference speech.
Instead we got a minimanifesto, with policies for a third term explained in some detail. Cheap childcare will be available from 8am to 6pm, for example, while ...
