The residues of the rice farming will generate electric power and make possible the negotiations of carbon credits in the Rio Grande do Sul state. Josapar and Caal (Cooperativa Agroindustrial de Alegrete Ltda.) will construct three rice hulls fueled thermal power plants that are expected to start up in October 2006.
