Sep. 29--Benjamin Moore, the Montvale-based company whose paints have been used in millions of redecorating jobs, has a pet remodeling project of its own. It wants to give 1,000 neighborhood paint stores a makeover.
The 121-year-old company, which became part of investment guru Warren Buffet's Berkshire Hathaway group four years ago, plans to spend millions to give downtown and small-town paint stores a fresh new look. Just as homeowners redecorate to protect their investments, Benjamin Moore believes the makeovers will protect and strengthen its market share.
