PROJECT OVERVIEW:
Indian demand for electricity is currently growing at a rate of 10% per year. The country, for that matter, is presently generating nearly 3,500 Mw against a demand of 3,700 Mw that is estimated to reach to 6,500 Mw by 2007. As a result, an international joint venture, operating under the name of BON CONSORTIUM was recently awarded a contract to build the Meghnaghat-2 power plant. The partners in the planned undertaking include BELHASA INTERNATIONAL CO. LTD. (BHI) of the UAE, the local ORION POWER CO. (BANGLADESH) LTD. and Japan-based NISSHO IWAI.
Although the size of the new complex has not yet been revealed it is nevertheless ...
