WERE I Kenneth Bigley's brother, son, parent or friend, there is no doubt about what I would be doing today and would have done every day of the past 14 since his capture.
I would be trying to raise every last penny to try to buy his release.
I would be taking out mortgages, begging, stealing, borrowing and doing absolutely anything necessary to raise whatever cash I could to do the same kind of deal for my loved one that the Italian government did to obtain the release of their two aid workers Simona Pari and Simona Torretta.
But the moral duties imposed upon a family member in a hostage situation are totally ...
