Microsoft appeared in the Court of First Instance in Luxembourg yesterday seeking a stay of the European Commission's March order until its appeal is heard. The EC told it to share more of its interoperability secrets with server rivals and strip the Windows Media Player out of XP.
Day one of the two-day hearing dealt with the IP-sharing order. Microsoft figured it acquitted itself well. The EC's lawyer appeared to drop the ball and Microsoft's rivals backstopping him like Novell had to go and find it for him.
