Votorantim Metais (Votorantim group) will invest R$319.6mil in the enlargement of nickel and cobalt production, R$132.2mil resources of which will come from the national development bank BNDES (Banco Nacional de Desenvolvimento Economico e Social) or 41.4% of total. Those resources will be invested in the mines in Niquelandia (Goias state) and in the solvent extraction plant in Sao Paulo city. Main electrolytic nickel producer, Votorantim Metais will increase capacity by 28% from 17,800 m tons to 22,800 m tons per year.
