GREEN BAY -- Maybe it would have all turned out differently had Ron Dayne just gone somewhere else. Maybe, with another team, in another offense, playing for another coach, he would have been the same star he was in college.

And maybe someday he'll get that chance. But for now, Dayne isn't kidding himself. With all he accomplished at the University of Wisconsin - the all-time leading rusher (6,397 yards) in NCAA Division I-A history, the 1999 Heisman Trophy winner, the 11th overall pick in the 2000 draft - he knows he's been a disappointment in the NFL.
