CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (NYSE:FDP), one of the world's largest producers and marketers of fruit and vegetables, today announced that the Company has completed its acquisition of Del Monte Foods Europe. Fresh Del Monte had previously announced its intention to acquire the company in July 2004. Fresh Del Monte acquired Del Monte Foods Europe for approximately $340 million in cash, financed primarily through the Company's credit facility.
