In our culture, the number 13 is often regarded as being unlucky. Tradition has it that it was because 13 sat down to the Last Supper. Not everyone follows this practice. The Japanese for example regard the number four as unfortunate (apparently it has the same root as the verb 'to die'!).
Back to 13, and the good news about it is that 13 is the number of medals captured by Welsh cheese-makers at the British Cheese Awards last Saturday. Blessed indeed are the cheese-makers!!
