This article is based on a presentation by Ian G. Park, President, Greenstone Resources, Toronto, Canada, given to The Northwest Mining Association, Spokane, Washington, U.S. on December 6, 1991.
The Oronorte mine is located in the Department of Antioquia, 250 km north of Bogota, Colombia's capital, the property consisting of 12 mining claims covering 512 ha. The site is 150 m above sea level in an area of moderate relief, characterised by heavily forested hills. The climate is tropical with an average temperature of 20|degrees~C and 1500-2000 mm of rainfall.
