We always look forward to reading our issue of NUTRACEUTICALS WORLD. The Laboratory Notebook section is of particular interest to us since we provide analytical laboratory services. In the April 2004 issue, however, Mr. Green incorrectly attempts to answer a question posed about natural versus synthetic vitamin E. We are aware that Mr. Green knows the difference between homologs, stereoisomers, and anantiomers because he discussed these in relation to alpha-lipoic acid in the Laboratory Notebook in November's issue of NUTRACEUTICAL WORLD, however, this column is misleading about the chemistry of vitamin E.
