Jack Hyde is professor of advertising and communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology and a former senior editor of Men's Wear Magazine. He was West Coast editor for DNR and Men's Wear Magazine for 28 years.
"In 1958, I went to Acapulco and did the first 'They Are Wearing' shoot. I found two custom shops, Royer and Jamie, and they made what were called 'Mexican Wedding Shirts.' They were worn at La Perla, the famous nightclub where boys dove off the cliff.
