Even Chicanos squabble over just what their label signifies: insult, badge of pride, rallying cry, ethnic slogan, style tag?
Regardless of the nuances, all agree that the colorful, highly politicized art, culture and lifestyles of Chicanos will be splashed all over the Twin Cities during the next three months in two museum shows and events that range from nightclub shows to theatrical performances, exhibits, lectures, family days and mural tours.
At the center of the whirlwind stands comedian and film star Cheech Marin, arguably the country's best known Chicano.
