BOUTIQUE hotel group Malmaison has bought the Hotel du Vin chain in a [pounds sterling]66.4 million deal.
Marylebone Warwick Balfour, which owns the Malmaison group, has bought the lifestyle hotel chain from its private backers who include Bodyshop founder Anita Roddick and her husband Gordon.
Most are situated in cathedral and university towns in southern England, Hotel du Vin hotels has gained a reputation for being on quirky sites, such as an old sugar warehouse in Bristol and a former eye hospital in Birmingham.
