Dec. 30--FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- Driggs Dairy Farms of Indiana has some good news for fans of its packaged ice cream.
The Decatur ice cream maker plans to invest $6.7 million in equipment that will enable it to produce frozen novelty items.
The company also plans to upgrade some of its existing ice cream processing equipment that has seen better days. About half the investment would be used to replace existing machinery.
"The environment here is with food stuff and it gets wet and you're using corrosive things," said Stephen Hackler, treasurer.
