Nov. 15--Planning Commission approved seven variances and the vacation of a 245-foot section of Knapp Court for a hotel project Thursday.
The five-story Drury Inn is planned for the site of the former Ponderosa restaurant on the southeast corner of Towne Boulevard and Village Drive. The plan called for variances on city building code relating to height, front yard setback, parking space size, number of parking spaces, right-of-way setback, sign size and sign height, but the crucial element of the plan revolved around the vacation of Knapp Court.
