Nov. 27--Union workers at two area nursing homes have resumed contract talks with their employer following a three-day strike that ended Saturday.
Negotiations between Service Employees International Union Local 1199 and the owners of the Guilderland Center Nursing Home and the Rosewood Gardens Nursing Home lasted most of the day Monday. Union spokesman John Joyce said the two sides were no closer to an agreement on any specific issues -- including wages and benefits -- but he characterized the session as productive.
