The 2004 regular-season series between the Red Sox and Angels was a tight one, both in games won (Sox, 5-4) and in runs scored (Angels, 54-53). The following should trigger some memories and spark anticipation for the best-of-5 showdown beginning today in Anaheim:
JUNE 1, ANAHEIM
Angels 7, Red Sox 6
The Sox built a 4-1 lead by the fourth inning, but the Angels got to Bronson Arroyo in the middle innings and Vladimir Guerrero put them ahead for good in a three-run sixth. A two-run homer by the Sox' Brian Daubach in the ninth was too little, too late this time.
