Oct. 23--The three WestCoast Hospitality hotels in Spokane will be rebranded as Red Lion properties by February.
WestCoast Hospitality Corp. on Tuesday announced plans to convert more than 20 WestCoast hotels that it owns, including three in Spokane.
"It's a huge move for us," said Stephen Barbieri, spokesman for the company.
The name change will help WestCoast expand into the Midwest and eastern United States where the Red Lion name is much better known, Barbieri said.
"The WestCoast name kind of raised eyebrows. The name recognition just wasn't there," he said.
