Oct. 6--State agriculture officials said tests of unleaded gasoline from the Dixie Foods service station on Shurling Drive showed too much water in the gasoline, even after water and sludge were pumped from the tank Monday.
The state Department of Agriculture, which oversees fuel quality and sales practices, sampled the Dixie gas after customers complained that it caused their cars to stop running before they could leave the parking lot. At least a half-dozen people had to have their vehicles towed and gas tanks emptied after buying gas at the station Saturday.
