Sep. 11--NEWTOWN, Conn.--On most days Curtis Packaging Corp.'s 155 workers create boxes for golf balls and cosmetics, but for an entire day last week they turned their skills to honoring the victims and heroes of Sept. 11.
The 157-year-old company on Friday produced 20,000 luminaries available at no charge to members of the community. Curtis Packaging was originally named S. Curtis and Sons; the company manufactured buttons and combs before moving to box production in 1901.
