Jul. 12--DENVER--The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad will receive a $90,000 grant from the Colorado Economic Development Commission for improvements to passenger cars and the train depot in Antonito, but the nonprofit group that runs the tourist train said this will be its last year.
The Rio Grande Railway Preservation Corp., operator of the 64-mile-long Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, said Thursday it will cease its operation of the little narrow gauge train at the end of the 2002 season in October.
