Cameron Davis, a Wisconsin native who is now the executive director of the Lake Michigan Federation, headquartered in Chicago, stopped by the office recently to spread the word that the time has come to enact safeguards to protect all of the Great Lakes - before it's too late.
Davis was among representatives from each of the eight states that border lakes Michigan, Superior, Ontario, Erie and Huron who have hammered out a draft compact and agreement aimed at protecting these five bodies of water that represent 97 percent of the fresh water resources in the United States.
