NEW YORK - Bergdorf Goodman has taken its fifth floor to new heights.

In a dramatic departure from its more traditional kind of elegance, the floor blends top bridge lines with bejeweled T-shirts in a modern setting with highly flexible displays -- and no designer signs. The floor is called On Five.

Burton Tansky, Bergdorf's chairman and chief executive officer, called it "a floor for the future with a very contemporary feeling" and said it's designed to carry Bergdorf's to the year 2000.
