Oct. 7--Bankrupt US Airways is bracing for a battle today in Alexandria, Va., where union and company lawyers will spar over the rejection of $110 million in airline pension payments and the airline's request for an emergency, across-the-board 23 percent pay cut.
U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Stephen Mitchell is scheduled to take up the pension and pay cut issues this afternoon. It is the second court hearing since US Airways filed for bankruptcy on Sept. 12.
