The worst record of any team as an expansion club's first opponent is New York's 0-2. The Knicks lost to the Chicago Packers, 120-103, on October 19, 1961, and the New Orleans Jazz, 89-74, on October 17, 1974. The Los Angeles Clippers are also 0-2 vs. expansion teams, but one of their losses came as the Buffalo Braves.
