Oct. 8--For nearly 80 years, the Miami Woman's Club has met in a sturdy Spanish Renaissance building that stands like a sentinel overlooking Biscayne Bay.
But now the tide of development is flowing in.
This week, the club began considering offers to redevelop much of the two-acre, prime waterfront property. Its four-story stucco structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, a distinction that protects the building from destruction.
