Mar. 1--The Port Authority plans to boost security at its bridges, tunnels, airports and other facilities to the tune of $124 million next year.
The agency's commissioners yesterday signed off on a new $4.5 billion spending plan highlighted by enhanced security and the restoration of PATH service to lower Manhattan.
"The world changed on Sept. 11," said Port Authority chairman Jack Sinagra. "This is a budget that reflects new realities and new priorities."
