NEW YORK -- Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield has announced that it will cover FluMist(TM) nasal spray flu vaccine this season to ensure that all of its members have access to flu vaccinations this fall and winter, following the announcement of a shortage of injectable vaccine.
"Contracting influenza is more serious for some populations than others, but is something we all would like to avoid," said Alan Sokolow, M.D., Empire's Chief Medical Officer.
