Feb. 7--Longtime teachers in District 60 are anticipating the sweet smell of retirement. They bought a florist shop.
Deb and Dave Lockett are nearing the 30-year mark in the school district. He will retire as coach at South next year. She'll follow him the following year, substituting the Antique Rose Flower Shop on West B Street for a fifth-grade classroom at Heritage Elementary School.
For now, she comes in after school and he helps out with deliveries and the like. She's a native of Colorado Springs and met her husband while they were students at Adams State College in Alamosa.
Pueblo has been home ever since.
