Feb. 1--Assuming it goes through the review and permitting process with no problems, construction may start on a new grocery store this spring.
Albertsons has requested preliminary and final detail plan approval to build a 57,654-square-foot supermarket, a 3,726-square-foot liquor store and a 1,989-square-foot express fueling center at the northwest corner of Peachland and Veterans boulevards in Port Charlotte.
Charlotte County's Development Review Committee will address the grocery chain's request during its Feb. 7 meeting.
Once the project receives final approval from the DRC, it still needs the County Commission's blessing before the grocery ...
