Oct. 8--Some customers of Bank of America who showed up Thursday afternoon to deposit or cash their paychecks a little early may have had a surprise at the teller counter.
The banking giant has changed its financial transaction cutoff times, meaning that a longtime banking tradition of deposits made after 2 p.m. counting the next business day is no longer in effect at the bank.
Instead, Bank of America has aligned its cutoff times to reflect the banking business day. At bank branches, the cutoff for deposits being recorded the same day on a receipt will be 5 p.m. on Mondays through Thursdays and 6 p.m. Fridays.
