Oct. 9--BOB HOPE AIRPORT, BURBANK, Calif. -- Early-morning sunlight gilds the five Orange County flyers as they stride across the runway in their electric blue flight suits and toward the final frontier: weightlessness.
Only look closer at those five astronaut wannabees -- passengers on the first commercial flights to replicate the weightless experience of space through a series of plunging and diving "zero-gravity" maneuvers. John Glenn they are ... er ... not.
One flyer sports a non-NASA regulation Fu-Manchu beard. Several model one-fish-taco-too-many paunches. Most carry corporate cell phones clapped to slightly ...
