Oct. 10--O.C. TECH SELLING SPREE IS LAMENTED: Too many local technology entrepreneurs seem perfectly content to grab on to a great idea, bring it to market, then sell to the highest bidder.
On a case-by-case basis, nothing's wrong with that selling mentality. It's often in the best interests of many stakeholders -- especially shareholders seeking to maximize the value of an enterprise's assets.
Yet when I look at these deals on a grand scale, this sell-off does little good for the local technology scene. Much of Orange County's brain power may end ...
