Fall is a great time to visit New York's wineries.
Less than an hour away, 10 great wineries line the western side of Cayuga Lake to make up part of the Cayuga Wine Trail. Get a group of friends together and a driver for a great day trip.
First stop: Swedish Hill Vineyards (www.swedishhill.com), on the northern tip of the lake, has the largest selection of wines to taste, but only pick a couple because this is the first stop. Try the Reislig Champagne.
Mid-trail: Hosmer Winery (www.hosmerwinery.com) offers an alternative to its long wine list - Sangria. You can bring home a bottle for $10. ...
