Walk into the Durasol Awning manufacturing facility and you're likely to see cloth--lots of it. The national manufacturer goes through thousands of yards of it yearly and supplies relief from summer heat to millions of customers nationwide with its retractable awnings.
That didn't mean Durasol was having the same luck with temperature control at its Middletown, New York facility. For facilities supervisor, Mike Shmenco, the challenge was to keep the Durasol facility as warm in winter as Durasol keeps its residential and commercial customers cool in summer.
