Oct. 8--San Diego County health officials sought to reassure the public Thursday that flu vaccine would be available to local seniors, small children and others at high risk after reports of a national flu vaccine shortage earlier this week.
British health officials suspended the license of California-based Chiron Corp.'s vaccine plant in England on Tuesday after finding contamination in some flu vaccine lots. Chiron, one of the two companies that manufactures flu vaccine for the United States, won't be able to deliver about half of the 100 million shots ...
