NEW YORK, Oct. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- ORBIS International (http://www.orbis.org/), a leading global organization dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness, announced the appointment of the Honorable Oliver Foot as President and Executive Director. This announcement came today from A. L. Ueltschi, Chairman, ORBIS International Board of Directors.

Mr. Foot, active with ORBIS since its founding in 1982, served as President and Executive Director from 1983 to 1995. He is also a standing member of the ORBIS International Board and Chairman of the ORBIS Charitable Trust Board (UK) Board.
